Kane Waselenchuk and Rocky Carson, the #1 and #2 players, respectively on the International Racquetball Tour (IRT), will renew their rivalry Sunday as they'll meet in the final of the Party with the Pros tournament in St. Louis, Missouri.
Waselenchuk advanced to the final with a straight game win over Ben Croft, 11-6, 11-1, 11-3, in the semi-finals. Though the score line is lopsided Croft gave it his all during the match, diving several times to make shots. When it was early in game one with Waselenchuk leading 7-6, it seemed the match would be close, but Croft didn't get another point that game and when he only managed one point in game two, the writing was clearly on the wall.
In the other semi-final, Carson defeated Jack Huczek. Frequently, they have played five game matches and it looked like that would be the case again Saturday after they split the first two games. But Carson took the third and then also won the fourth by a comfortable margin to set up the showdown with Waselenchuk.
Sunday's final begins at noon CDT and will be web cast via the IRT Network.
