This weekend's Women's Professional Racquetball Organization (WPRO) event, the 2011 SCS Title and Escrow Pro-Am in Herndon, Virginia has all the usual suspects as well as a couple of familiar names that haven't been on the scene of late.
Kristen Bellows will play her first tournament since December 2009. It's been so long between tournaments that Bellows isn't in the most recent WPRO rankings, which should mean she'll be ranked last this weekend.
Christie Huczek (née Van Hees) is the other familiar but infrequent WPRO player registered for the weekend. She's only played in two other events this season, but reached the semi-finals both times.
While having Bellows and Huczek in the draw this weekend will be a good thing for racquetball fans, it won't be so good for their opponents. The Racquetball Blog has done up an unofficial draw to see where they might fit into the draw.
Bellows looks to match up with Susana Acosta in the first round with a potential quarter final meeting with top seed Paola Longoria. Huczek is on the other side of the draw and if she beats Kimberly Ferina in the first round could face off with long time rival Cheryl Gudinas, who's seeded third.
Two other potentially interesting 2nd round matches, if we've got the draw right, would be Samantha Salas Solis versus Nancy Enriquez and Kerri Wachtel versus Angela Grisar.
