Christie Huczek, former #1 player on the Women's Professional Racquetball Organization (WPRO) tour, has reached the semi-finals for the third time this season, as she defeated 6th seed Adrienne Fisher in the quarter finals of the 2011 SCS Title and Escrow Pro-Am tournament in Herndon, Virginia, 11-7, 2-11, 11-0, 11-3. Huczek's only playing her 3rd event of the season but has reached the semis each time.
The semis in Herndon will be a repeat of the semis at the US Open earlier this season, as Huczek will play 2nd seed Rhonda Rajsich, who defeated Cristina Amaya, 11-2, 11-8, 11-5, in one semi-final, while the other will be a battle of two young Mexican players.
Top seed Paola Longoria will play 4th seed Samantha Salas Solis in the other semi-final. In the quarters, Longoria defeated Mexican veteran Susana Acosta, 11-2, 13-11, 11-0, and Salas Solis beat Kerri Wachtel, 11-4, 7-11, 11-9, 11-3.
The semi-finals of the 2011 SCS Title and Escrow Pro-Am go later today with the final slated for noon Sunday.
